Technology is important because it is becoming more and more prominent in our society, and it makes work easier to do. It has changed greatly in the last five years by coming out with more online apps, phones, and computers, and some things have that all rolled up into one. I think it will change at a steady pace as more and more people contribute.
For school work I usually use, windows, google docs, excel, blogger, digital story, career exploration, wikis, advanced search, and digital portfolio. For personal use I use iGoogle, and advanced internet searching. I use more of the tools for school than my personal life.
I think I will use many of these tools from Online B in the future because people often need excel for some jobs. Also, I will use career exploration to search for a job that I like. I think Google Docs is the most practical for lifelong learning because it uses a lot of common apps, such as, documents, spreadsheets, and powerpoints. I don't think I will ever use digital storytelling because there are different ways transfer information to another person. Google Docs was my favorite to create because it was familiar and easy to use. Digital storytelling was my least favorite because it was annoying to make, and there are easier tools to use.

Screen cast 2
To create this screencast I used screenr.com. It was pretty easy to use and similar to screencast-o-matic. I think Screencast-o-matic was more user friendly though because if you messed up, then you could back up the recording and fix it. With Screenr you had to restart. I liked screencast-o-matic better, and would rather use that.
Screencast post
A screen cast is a video of a person doing a step by step example of something taking place on a computer screen. I liked creating a screen cast because it's simple to do, and it's an easier way to help people online. I disliked doing it because if you mess up then you need to start over sometimes. If someone is not sure how to do something they can find a screencast and just follow what the video says and does. This is most useful to people who are new to technology, or are trying to learn new things.

Google Docs vs. Windows Live
Google Docs is easy to access because people use their iGoogle homepage for a lot of different things. However, Windows Live is very familiar, because most people are taught to use Microsoft Windows applications. Both of them can save easily, use different types of documents, and share with others. With Google Docs, you don't have a limit on the amount of free storage space you can use, but Windows Live only gives you 7GB of free storage.
