Technology is important because it is becoming more and more prominent in our society, and it makes work easier to do. It has changed greatly in the last five years by coming out with more online apps, phones, and computers, and some things have that all rolled up into one. I think it will change at a steady pace as more and more people contribute.
For school work I usually use, windows, google docs, excel, blogger, digital story, career exploration, wikis, advanced search, and digital portfolio. For personal use I use iGoogle, and advanced internet searching. I use more of the tools for school than my personal life.
I think I will use many of these tools from Online B in the future because people often need excel for some jobs. Also, I will use career exploration to search for a job that I like. I think Google Docs is the most practical for lifelong learning because it uses a lot of common apps, such as, documents, spreadsheets, and powerpoints. I don't think I will ever use digital storytelling because there are different ways transfer information to another person. Google Docs was my favorite to create because it was familiar and easy to use. Digital storytelling was my least favorite because it was annoying to make, and there are easier tools to use.

Screen cast 2
To create this screencast I used screenr.com. It was pretty easy to use and similar to screencast-o-matic. I think Screencast-o-matic was more user friendly though because if you messed up, then you could back up the recording and fix it. With Screenr you had to restart. I liked screencast-o-matic better, and would rather use that.
Screencast post
A screen cast is a video of a person doing a step by step example of something taking place on a computer screen. I liked creating a screen cast because it's simple to do, and it's an easier way to help people online. I disliked doing it because if you mess up then you need to start over sometimes. If someone is not sure how to do something they can find a screencast and just follow what the video says and does. This is most useful to people who are new to technology, or are trying to learn new things.

Google Docs vs. Windows Live
Google Docs is easy to access because people use their iGoogle homepage for a lot of different things. However, Windows Live is very familiar, because most people are taught to use Microsoft Windows applications. Both of them can save easily, use different types of documents, and share with others. With Google Docs, you don't have a limit on the amount of free storage space you can use, but Windows Live only gives you 7GB of free storage.

Retailer Brookstone this year will start selling a portable fuel cell able to charge smartphones a dozen times before running out. It's a big step forward in portable fuel cell technology. This new fuel cell will charge any device that has a USB cable. They will only cost a few dollars. People can buy them online, through Brookstone catalogs, or at stores, and they can be recycled through municipal recycling programs. Lilliputian's fuel cell will be able to fully charge an iPhone 4 between 10 and 14 times with one cartridge. That could last up to a couple weeks for some people. They can also be carried on airplanes.

Career Clusters
My top career cluster is Education and Training. This cluster has to do with planning, managing, and providing education and training services and related learning support services. Some jobs that fall under this cluster are professional support service, teacher, trainer, coach, counselor, principal, etc. The skills and characteristics you need for this career cluster are being helpful, friendly, patient, nice, tactful, and be good with teaching people new things. I do not think this fits me the best because I do not want to be a teacher even though I like helping people.

Review
Google Docs is a document that you can access from your iGoogle home page. When you create it you can choose to share with others. You and the person/people you shared it with can work on it at the same time, and it will save every time a change is made. Other people can also share with you.
Wikis are pages made to share information about a certain subject. You can add members, who in turn can make pages or add to something.
Assistive technology is a device that helps people with disabilities. This includes keyboards for blind people, special phones for deaf people.
Electronic portfolios are a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user. It is usually used on the web. It's a form of self expression and creativity. You can determine who sees your page to a degree.

Project Wrap-Up Assignment
In Google Docs I liked how my partner and I could work at the same time, and also chat in case we needed to talk over something. I didn't like the fact that I couldn't copy and past the normal way, but other than that it was great. Working at the same time as my partner was very useful because we didn't have to email back and forth or wait for anything because it was all right there as we worked. I think Google Docs is fine the way it is. I think my project turned out very well overall.

The new iPad says it is at 110% when charging when it it actually only on 90%. Tests show that the iPad reached the actual 100% 2 hours and 10 minutes after it first read 100%. This means that users get less then the actual battery time.

Citing Sources
I liked Citation Machine more than Easybib because it is easy to follow, and it already fills out most of the stuff you need. In Easybib I had to fill out more and it was difficult to find. I liked that in Citation machine, I could choose the format easily and it was very well organized.

Site Evaluations
http://www.prodeathpenalty.com/
The site is biased and doesn't give the two sides of the death penalty. It is up to date though, and recognized as significant when I seatched "pro death penalty." It was a 4 on the scale.
http://usliberals.about.com/od/deathpenalty/
This website was ranked as a 5. It didn't have a clear author with credentials but it did have a broad coverage on the subject, and was up to date.
http://www.amnesty.org/en/death-penalty
This site was reliable but also a little biased. It did have a clear author.
http://kkk.org/
This was a reliable website and was not biased. It was a 6 on the scale, It was informative and didn't push an opinion.

Online Safety
In this article, Former Officer Arrested for Child Porn, it talks about arresting a man for having sexual text conversations with a 12 year old. The kids parents suspected something and checked his phone. This is when they called in the police and the police pretended to be the kid while texting the predator. When the predator saw the officers he took his infant from the car to suggest that he was just taking her to the park, but he was arrested.

Google’s new privacy policy will allow Google to get rid of 60 different user policies and combine it into one, much shorter, policy. It will also grant Google the ability to collect more complete profiles of the people using their products. By gaining this information about a user they can put ads on the side of the webpage that a user is most likely to buy.
This article talks about Google changing and being able to keep track of what you’ve searched, if you’re going to be slate for a meeting, and will know "what you really mean when you type in Apple, Jaguar or Pink." It also talks about how privacy experts are not very happy about it. I think the way that Google plans on using this policy is for the better because it helps you search things fast, and is more convenient. Link to article

Copyright Infringement Case
In 2007, J.K Rowling and Warner Bros sued RDR Books to stop the publication of a Harry Potter encyclopedia that Steven Vander Ark wrote. Rowling said "that the publication of a similar book before her own would hurt the proceeds of the official encyclopedia, which she plans to give to charity." Also that it was "wholesale theft of 17 years of my hard work". It was about a literary work. The case ended in Vander Ark being guilty. $750 for infringement of each of the seven Harry Potter books and the 2 companion books. He only had to pay the least amounts possible though "since the Lexicon has not been published and thus plaintiffs have suffered no harm beyond the fact of the infringement." Link to Article

Internet Safety
Internet safety is being safe and smart while online. Three important rules to online safety are, don't give away personal information such as name, number, address, city, or even state, don't agree to meet someone that you have never met previously, and don't trust everyone you talk to online. Some people lie to gain your trust, and then try to put you in dangerous situations. I didn't really learn anything new yesterday, however, can improve by not posting as much online, and making my usename random instead of just NolaO, or something similar.

Feed Readers
I used Google reader and Bloglines as my two web feeds. I think Google reader is easier to use. I can see more at once when looking at the websites I subscribed to. If I know what website I want it's much easier to find on Google reader rather than going to the website, copying, and then pasting it on Bloglines. It also looks less cluttered.
